Most people think that hair extensions spoil the natural look of their hair. Few others consider them as an option to change them into someone that they are not. Contrary to the beliefs of people, there are many ways by which the extensions can really benefit individuals.

For example, hair extensions can be considered as the right solution for people who have thin hair. Some people's hair is extremely thin that they cannot even put a pony tail. 2012 Jewelry Fashion Outlook: All About Natural

It's a busy time in the jewelry and fashion world. While most of us are still enjoying barbecues, vacations and flip flops, the fashion world is hard at work on their fall collections. Here, from the studios and runways of jewelry's top designers and reporters, is a sneak peek at what's ahead in fall for jewelry and accessories.

All About Natural

If there's a buzzword for the 2012 fall jewelry season, it's "natural." Fall 2012 jewelry will be all about nature and natural tones. Designs will be inspired by animals, flowers, and exotic ethnic cultures. Size wise, big will still be in, so go for large statement pieces.

Here's an overview of what to look forward to this fall:

Earth tones are in. The super neon look of the 1980s are out (again) in favor of more subdued and natural Earth tones. Bigger is still better, though, so look for large bracelets and necklaces in whites, creams and beiges.

The year of blue. To add some color to the natural Earth tones, go for blue. From aqua to azure, navy to turquoise, blue is the must-have color for fall 2012.

Celebrate flowers. As mentioned before, fall 2012 jewelry is all about natural-and the beauty of flowers will be celebrated in jewelry this season. You'll see flowers in every combination, from buds to full-blown floral arrangements, in every kind of piece from brooches to rings.

Go big with bib necklaces. Look for large, layered art deco and Egyptian-influenced bib necklaces - the kind Michelle Obama wears quite often. The key to making this look is to pair it with a basic blouse with a simple neckline. Let the necklace complement, not compete with, your outfit.

Geometric jewelry shapes. Triangle- and diamond-shaped earrings, square rings and bracelets, and necklaces with circular stones are going to be seen on people and on TV this fall, as geometric jewelry is back in vogue.

Crosses are cool. Whatever your religion or belief, there is something stunning about the beauty of an intricate cross jewelry piece. Look for intricate pieces in non-traditional colors.

Nature and Native-American. American Indian- and nature-inspired jewelry will once again be in this fall. Think multi-colored beaded and turquoise bracelets, necklaces with leaf or shell pendants and earrings with feathered designs. Go easy on real feathers as a hair accessory, though, that's on its way out.

Tribal/Ancient Mayan. Let your inner warrior shine through this fall with Ancient Mayan and tribal-inspired necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Look for worn gold and silver-colored pieces with beaded accents of turquoise, dark reds, blues, greens and browns.

When you bring in a piece of jewelry or other item to Empire, that property is appraised by a professional jeweler. If you choose to take a loan out or "pawn it" instead of sell it, the item becomes collateral against the loan, and you receive cash against that collateral.

For more information on getting a loan on your specific gold, jewelry or other item, go to our selling section.

Dispelling Myths About Getting Fit And Staying Healthy

Health and fitness industries are among the most lucrative industries in the world for a few very good reasons: A) lots of people want to be fit and stay healthy, and B) most people have no clue how to do so, and will buy just about anything they come across that promises miracle results; of course, one of the main reasons why "miracle results" are what so many people go after is that they think it is too tough to get fit and stay healthy without miracle results - but once some of the big "health and fitness" myths are broken apart for you, you will realize that this is not at all the case!

Eating healthy is tough to do: This myth exists largely because of the fact that, quite frankly, most people have put their bodies in a position where they are so used to bad food that it is difficult to make the switch early on; one thing to realize, however, is that your body actually desires healthy foods, and once you get past the first couple weeks of staying away from food that is bad for you - that is, once you get this bad food out of your system - your body will actually crave healthy food, which will make it very easy for you to eat the right way.

Staying fit is no fun: This is another big one, as people think of running long distances or spending countless hours in the gym in order to get (and stay) fit, and while they might be able to keep up with this for a little while, they have no hope of keeping up with this in the long run; the truth is, however, that there are actually a lot of enjoyable ways to stay fit, and once you start finding some that you enjoy yourself, it will be very easy (and fun) to keep your body in great shape.

I don't have time to stay in shape: A lot of people pick up this excuse because it is easy for them to convince themselves that there is no way for them to lead a healthy lifestyle with how busy their work and family keeps them, but actually, there are plenty of small things you can do throughout the course of a regular day that will keep you healthy and fit, which pretty much nullifies this excuse!

As you get older, it's impossible to stay fit: It is true, of course, that our bodies change over time - and it is certainly more difficult to stay fit as you get older than it would have been when you are younger - but you should also realize that our bodies are extremely adaptable and resilient, and if you take the proper steps (all of which are truly very easy), it will not be difficult at all for you to keep yourself at a good, healthy weight, and for you to keep your body in great shape.

In order to understand more about these myths, your best bet is to find a couple resources that will give you information on eating healthy, having fun staying fit, staying in shape with a busy schedule, and staying fit as you get older; a couple great websites to look at for this are http://www.fitnessforlifeandpleasure.com/ and http://www.homehealthfitnessinfo.com/ - as each of these websites will give you all the information you need to easily lead the healthy lifestyle you desire!

Important Things You Need To Know About Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

There are tons of developments in the medical field. Several of those are towards the cure of certain conditions. There are also those that focused on the alleviation of symptoms that make individuals suffer. Furthermore, there are innovations that can help improve the well being of any individual. One notable development is the usage of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Basically, this type of therapy uses oxygen inside a pressure-filled room. There are several conditions which this procedure is specifically prescribed for. It may be used to help patients who suffer from decompression sickness. This is the condition that scuba divers might develop. Decompression syndrome does not happen to all scuba divers. However, it may happen to a lot of them. Oxygen therapy allows people to effectively compensate to the needs of the body.

Those who suffer from severe infections might also benefit from this. People who have diabetes and are experiencing complications might likewise undergo oxygen therapy. Wounds that don't heal can manage to heal better and at a faster rate. Once oxygen is delivered to the cells, the body can work its way towards healing. Practically anyone who has compromised oxygen levels can take advantage of what this procedure can offer.

This works well than breathing as a person is able to receive more oxygen. Air pressure is increased for the body to be able to accept the optimum level of oxygen that the body can carry. Normal air pressure can be enough to provide a healthy person with the oxygen to support the body's functions. But once anyone has compromised physical processes, the body will require more help.

If you are worried about possible complications, these worries might be baseless. Throughout history, using oxygen therapy may be generally considered safe. Complications are quite rare. However, you have to be aware that the presence of risks is still there. These risks are quite minimal but will be worth for you to know about. When oxygen levels in the blood are temporarily increased, temporary nearsightedness might occur. The development of injuries in the ear might likewise happen. The high air pressure inside the chamber can cause this to occur. However, it has to be known that there are measures that need to be taken in order to ensure that the pressure inside that chamber is left at a safe level.

One does not need to be admitted in a hospital in order to undergo this therapy. You can be an outpatient and still be catered. These facilities are also not limited to hospitals. These may be found in certain clinics. There are also those that offer purely hyperbaric oxygen therapy to their clients. It will be totally up to you to choose which location you will be willing to receive your therapy from.

The chamber can usually fit just a single individual. You will lie down inside of that machine and wait for the air pressure to increase as the chamber will be closed off from the environment. Alternatively, there can be an oxygen therapy room that can accommodate several individuals at the same time.

Peter Z Hines is an enthusiastic writer who likes to share information on Personal Hyperbaric Chambers and hyperbaric oxygen therapy as well as related products.

About Ayurveda - A Historical Look

Ayurveda is possibly the oldest system of traditional healing still practised today. The practice originated in India 5000 years ago and has become popular all over the world. If you have doubts regarding what is Ayurveda, read on to know more on the topic.

Ayurveda is based on bringing the mind, body and soul in balance and a life style incorporating appropriate diet, exercise and spiritual practices like meditation and mantras is prescribed to bring about harmony in life.

History of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is possibly the greatest gift of physical and spiritual healing given by India to the world. It is thought to be divine in origin and taught to Acharya Ved Vyas by Lord Brahma.

The oral traditions in Ayurveda were gradually penned by seers and sages in treatises, some of the foremost of which are the Atharva Veda, Sushruta Samhita and Charaka Samhita. Ayurveda evolved into the Athreya School for Physicians and The Sushruta School for Surgeons covering eight branches of medicine.

The Basic Tenets of Ayurveda

Ayurveda propounds that there are five elements in nature: Akash (space), Prithvi (Earth), Vayu (air), Jal (Water) and Fire (Agni). The five elements combine in the human body in various proportions to reflect as Doshas - the three doshas Pitta, Vata and Kapha reflect in different people in different strengths and the predominant dosha is the deciding factor in the line of treatment. The treatment serves to bring the doshas in balance.

Vatta Dosha controls the joints and muscles, heart, respiratory system and those parts of central nervous system controlling fear, pain and anxiety.

Kapha Dosha affects the physiognomy, immunity levels and the emotional tendencies of greed, forgiveness, love and calm.

Pitta Dosha controls the digestive system, rate of metabolism, intelligence and the emotional tendencies of jealousy, anger, intelligence and understanding.

How Ayurveda Works

Ayurveda works on the principle that toxins accumulate in the body and cause an imbalance of doshas. The three toxins in Ayurveda are:

* Ama: This is sticky sludge formed as food gets digested. It is a waste product and must be eliminated to keep the digestive system efficient.

* Amavisha: Ama if not eliminated, turns into its more toxic form, Amavisha. Amavisha makes the excretory system sluggish and the toxins further aggravate the imbalances in the body.

* Garavisha: External toxins in the form of harmful microorganisms, trace metals and impure air harm the body. These fall under this category.

Diet and Ayurveda

Yoga works on the principle that you are what you eat. As per the dosha of the patient being treated, an appropriate diet may be prescribed.

* Diet for Vata Dosha: Cereals, clarified butter, whole grains, onions, garlic, okra, turnips, all sweet fruits

* Diet for Pitta Dosha: All fruits and vegetables, sprouts

* Diet for Kapha Dosha: Dry food cooked without oil, salads, and dried fruits.

Perception about Ayurveda varies - there are many cases where Ayurvedic treatments have been very effective and there are critics who are against such unconfirmed medical practices. That being said, Ayurveda has been around for ages, and this medical practice is a key part of India's heritage.

Interesting Facts About Tapas

Although Yoga has become a part of mainstream life, the word still conjures up visions of thin, flexible bodies in complex postures. In fact, many people who realize that everyone from cancer patients to senior citizens practice yoga still think of it as a physical discipline only. There are many forms of Yoga which yield emotional, mental, and spiritual health benefits.

The truth is that only one of Yoga's eight limbs - Asana - involves the practice of physical poses. The other seven deal with everything from meditation and breathing to morality and concentration.

It is not my intention to discuss all of the limbs, which Patanjali describes within the Yoga Sutra, but to encourage you to think in-depth about one specific sub-category of Niyama, which you may know as "Tapas."

Niyama, the second limb, is a Sanskrit word that means 'laws' or 'rules'; and its practice involves personal integrity. One of the five concepts of Niyama is Tapas, meaning 'discipline' or 'austerity'. Tapas concerns the action of keeping the body healthy and controlling the inner cravings without exhibiting them externally. Literally, it is translated as 'to burn' or 'to heat' and signifies purification or cleansing.

Interesting Facts about Tapas

• The practice of Asana (postures) and Pranayama (breathing) help to keep the physical body in shape.

• In order to fully practice Yoga, one should have burning desire to keep the body clean.

• A healthy diet and adequate sleep are necessary to keep the body pure.

• Tapas stresses moderation and purity of all things, including actions, bodily intake, and senses.

• All thoughts and actions should bring the mind closer to the Divine.

• Activities should be for the benefit of the greater good, not for selfish gain.

• Purification involves sacrifice but leads to greater gains in the long run.

• A common means of practicing Tapas is fasting, or cleansing.

• Tapas may involve striving for a spiritual, physical, or mental goal.

• Spiritual practices and inner cleansing are manifested in the outer body.

• Prayer, meditation, positive thinking, and kind words or deeds lead to purification.

• The ultimate goal of purification is union with God or entering Nirvana.

A person who adheres to ascetic practices in an attempt to achieve the level of the great teachers, such as Buddha or Jesus, is called a Tapasvi. The everyday yoga practitioner, however, need not spend long hours meditating in an ashram to benefit from Tapas. Much like the Golden Rule, it is just a healthy and moral way to live.
